& Bristol Numismatic Society
| The Society was instituted on 2 October
1950 at Theobalds Cafe Bath with the name of' Bath and Bristol Coin Club. The
present name was adopted for the 1953 season by which time the membership had
increased to 22. The Society has hosted the annual National Numismatic Congress in Bath or Bristol on 5 occasions: 1958 1964 1983 1988 and 1998 Our programme of events is a mixture of academic speakers on specialist subjects to our own membership with lectures on their own interests. We also hold inter-quiz competitions with the South Wales Society, Christmas buffets, club auctions and fund-raising events. |

| October 11 | Five Minute Talks Members will present short talks on a topic of their choice. |

Worst and Oddest acquisitions A themed evening. Members are invited to bring along a few of their best, worst and oddest acquisitions. |
| December 13 | Christmas
Celebration Society Christmas celebration, to be held at a private venue. |

by Ivor Bridges will talk about types and uses of British coin weights. |
| February 14 | Society Quiz Society quiz evening. Members to bring a selection of questions for this fun evening. |

| April 10 | Welsh Tokens
and token interests in the Severn Estuary Alan Cox will talk about Welsh Tokens, with additional material relating to the Severn Estuary. |
| May 8 | The Oratory, Holophusicon
and what else? David Young will talk about some unusual tokens. |
| June 12 | British
Countermarked Dollar Tokens Mike Shaw will present some fresh material on British Countermarked Dollar Tokens. |
| July 10 | AGM Bath and Bristol Numismatic Society AGM. |
| August 14 | Five Minute
Talks Members will present short talks on a topic of their choice. |
