Southampton & District Numismatic Society

History

The Society was formed in 1953. The first meeting of the Society took place at 7.30pm on 20th March 1953 at the Richmond Inn, Southampton. At this meeting Harold Good was elected as the first Chairman.

The club encourages members in the study and collection of coins, medals, tokens and banknotes.

The club is always anxious to welcome new members with an interest in any area and young people to learn more about the hobby. In order to facilitate this our subscriptions are kept to a minimum and young persons may join for a reduced membership fee.

The Society has a varied programme of events throughout the year and meets at 19.30 hrs on the third Friday of each month (except August) at the Central Baptist Church, Devonshire Road, Polygon, Southampton.

Membership costs £9 per annum, or £10 including partner.

For other details of membership, our venue and current programme please contact SNS at fsmail.net.
